We are back to school after 2 weeks of holidays and are now in the 1st week of term 2!

This term we will be doing a range of exciting  things such as:

1. NAPLAN Test
2. Cluster disco
3. Camp
4. Plays

NAPLAN Test: This term the year 3, 5, 7 and 9′s in schools all over the Australia all do a similar test. The test covers all aspects of learning in 1 large test. The test ranges from 30 mins all that way to 50 minutes in test times. The test gives you a score so that the government can see how all the schools kids are learning and witch schools teach best.

Cluster Disco: In term 2 all the year 6, 7’s in the Mitcham hills cluster hold a disco at one of the schools. This year our school is hosting it. We have to organise music, food and themes. Then when the schools come on the night we just PARTY! Until late.

Plays: This term our year 6 and 7′s organise and hold a play. This year my class is doing a play called Cinders it will be a bit like Cinderella but with changes to make it funny. Every body has got a part and will be on stage at least once. Until the night we have to practise it every day until we get it perfect!

Camp: My class is going to El shaddai on the murry river for a class camp. Not just our class is going though because some of the other classes like Mr Mac’s class and Mr Berry’s class are coming too. We are staying for a week during school and are coming back on Friday.

They are all the major things we are doing this term but knowing Pam we will have many more exciting things planned to do through out the term.

Have you ever thought about making a facial mask?

I have…soo me and my friend decided to have a go!

First we dug some dirt into a cup just from the garden (you probably could get some special dirt from a body shop or something)

Then we sifted it in a biger bowl making sure that there are no twigs in the bowl with the dirt.

We added about half a cup of water bit by bit until the dirt was smooth enough to spread but not too watery,

I told my friend to lay back and I put a circle of cucumber on her eyes.

I smoothed it on her face covering all her skin.

When I was done she did it to me we then played with it on our face until the mud was completely dry then we peeled the dirt off and wiped our face with a warm cloth.

Our skin is smooth as smooth!

ITS BACK!

We went back to school on the 31st of January, I am in Pam’s class again this year I think this is good because I think Pam is a great teacher and I like her.

We are currently learning about what qualities you kneed to have to bee a leader because we are also doing applications for leadership rolls, leadership rolls are where we write an application and go up against or class mates to try and get things like SRC (student representative council) Sports captain and creche. these jobs are good because it gives you a chance to be a leader while learning and having fun. We stay in charge of the job for the WHOLE YEAR! we finished our first week on Friday. I had heaps of fun this week and I know that I will have a great year with Pam and my class mates this year.

if you have read my post on technology you will know that in class we have been making boats.

Today we filled the pool with water and tested our boats. Trevy and I did not have much luck. Our boat just went round and round in circles.

I was quite funny to watch but we were a little but disappointed that it did not make it to the other end of the pool!

I had heaps of fun making my boat and then testing it. Now it is time to write a procedure of  how we made our boat. it has to be detailed because if we handed it to someone they had to understand it and be able to make our boat (or something like it)!

Hi Again

This term for technology we were told to make a boat. We were also told that you  had to go from one end of a kiddy paddle pool to another without   touching it.( using a sail, batteries ect) we are in partners. My partner is Trevy ( you can go to her blog with this link.Trevy’s blog) we have decided to make our boat move by blowing up a ballon then letting it go. we are the only ones who have used this technique. I hope it works!

I will let you know If we made it to the other side or not when we have done it. if you want you can leave a comment on if you think it will make it or not and why!

UH-OH-  Trevvy and I found that when we tested our boat it did not make it far. We decided that we would change our ideas!.We are now making a boat that is batterie powered (the batteries are connected to a plasitc propella) we are a little bit behind ad so we have to hurry do get it made. I am now excited to see how our new boat will go. Dont forget you can still comment on wether or not it will make it.!!!

This term my class and I have be doing something called Inanimate Alice, this is were we watch a short digital story and then we ask questions about it. The author has purposely left bits out so that it gets our minds thinking, I think it is a great idea, we have watched 1, 2, and 3 I liked 3 the best because it was more explanatory so it wasn’t confusing. So far Alice has had her dad go missing  and they had to go look for him…( digital story 1) and in digital story 2 her parents both went missing she got upset but it all turned out OK, Finally in digital story 3 the had to leave Russa for a reason I cant tell (or I will give the story away) I love watching the digital stories with Pam and the class. We got into groups so it was easier to discuss,
