Year 7

hello,

As some of you know I am in year 7 this year, this means that I finishe primary school this year. it is geting realy close to the end of the year now and our class has started practising for graduation. next year I am going to high school. I usualy like the end of the year but this year its a bit different becuase i will be leaving some of my good friends to go to high school. we normaly do lots of fun games and not much learning at the end of the year. we are in the last week of school and i have about 3 days left before holidays and high school. I am realy excited!

we have been doing the premers reading challenge this year, we finshed a while ago but recently we got given our medals for finising 12 books.

Greek Mytholigy

In class at the moment we have started learning about greek mytholigy. I have found a great webdite that has most of the greek gods and their deffinitions.I also found a great family tree including all the gods, here it is!

here is one of the deffinitions.

Aphrodite – The goddess of love and beauty. Aphrodite loved and was loved by many gods and mortals. Among her mortal lovers, the most famous was perhaps Adonis. Some of her sons are Eros, Anteros, Hymenaios and Aeneas (with her Trojan lover Anchises). Perhaps the most famous legend about Aphrodite concerns the cause of the Trojan War. She was the wife of Hephaestus. The myrtle was her tree. The dove, the swan, and the sparrow were her birds.

Hades – He was made lord of the underworld, ruling over the dead. He is a greedy god who is greatly concerned with increasing his subjects. Those whose calling increase the number of dead were seen favorably by him. He was also the god of wealth, due to the precious metals mined from the earth. His wife was Persephone whom Hades abducted.
The underworld itself was often called Hades. It was divided into two regions: Erebus, where the dead pass as soon as they die, and Tartarus, the deeper region, where the Titans had been imprisoned. It was a dim and unhappy place, inhabited by vague forms and shadows and guarded by Cerberus, the three-headed, dragon-tailed dog. Sinister rivers separated the underworld from the world above, and the aged boatman Charon ferried the souls of the dead across these waters.

ME Club!

Hey!

recently some girls in our class have put together a blog called ME club.The ME Club stands for Millie and Emily’sclub. They put it together as a fun way to get people the world to join one big club. To get into the club you have to answer a series of questions supplied on the blog if you get most of them right they will let you in the club. As part of the club it is asked that you check the blog regularly because there will be challenges set for you to see if you can do. So far the have set 2 challenges the 2nd one was to create a wordle using your favourite colours. In the wordle you need to include at least 15 words about you and the things you like. Don’t forget that anyone can join the club…even you!

I have finished the challenge and I thort I could show you all too!

100 Word challenge

Last term our class looked at the 100 word challenge run by Mrs Skinner in the UK. Pam thought that we could have a go at this week’s 100 word challenge we had to include a promopt in our short story and it had to be exactly 100 words long no more no less!

The prompt was: Everyone clapped and cheered apart from…

here is mine!

My family were having a talent show; every one was doing an act. The show was about to start. I heard my dad shout into the microphone he said “The Seldan’s show is about to begin!” my mum yelled “the first act is Mikky’s dance”. After her act everyone clapped and cheered apart from my cousin, he was crouched in his chair ignoring the show. He was not in a good mood because he was the only one that HAD to do the show. He did not want to but he had to he got up and sang…he was AMAZING.
